Sue Big Oil Launch Party

February 24, 2023
7:00 pm – 9:30 pm
at UBC Robson Square (map)

RSVP

About the Event

Sue Big Oil is a collaboration of multiple local and national organizations concerned about harmful climate change impacts in BC communities, the skyrocketing costs for local governments and taxpayers and the need to hold the world’s biggest polluters accountable for climate damages. We’re having a launch party to promote the Sue Big Oil campaign and demonstrate some of the great resources we have available, most notably the Sue Big Oil – House Party Kit created by the youth organization Shake Up The Establishment! Join us from 7 – 10 pm at Robson Square (in the Sunroom), come enjoy some food and drinks with fellow community organizers, play some Sue Big Oil games and win some prizes alongside hearing talks from notable community members on the importance of making polluters pay their share.

This is a free event. Food will be vegan/vegetarian. Masking is encouraged; masks, hand sanitizer and a basic COVID-19 pre-screening self-questionnaire will be available at the check-in table before attendees enter. We hope all attending have already or will consider getting the necessary flu shot and COVID-19 booster vaccinations as recommended by public health professionals to minimize the spread of viruses, if they are able to. Please let our team know of any additional accessibility needs by contacting taro@shakeuptheestab.org.
