Alumni Office Hours with Crystal Leung – Pathologists’ Assistant Supervisor @ St. Paul’s Hospital | Anatomy of a Career: Becoming a Pathologists’ Assistant in the US & Canada

The UBC Career Centre is excited to bring you a mentorship and networking opportunity to connect with UBC alumna, Crystal Leung. This event is open to all students and alumni.

Crystal Leung is the Pathologists’ Assistant Supervisor of the St. Paul’s Hospital Anatomic Pathology Lab and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UBC. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (BMLSc) from UBC and her Master’s of Health Science degree from the Duke University Pathologists’ Assistants Program. With experience as a Pathologists’ Assistant at Duke University Health and Stanford Health, Crystal focuses on standardizing grossing procedures, working with Anatomic Pathology Technical Coordinators to enhance workflow, as well as developing educational curriculum and resources for the training of UBC pathology residents, all while maintaining an active role in clinical practice.
Crystal will speak about her experience in the BMLSc undergraduate program, her path to becoming a Pathologists’ Assistant, her education and work experience in the US, and finally how her transition has been since being back in Canada.
