How Networking Helped Jumpstart My Career As an International Student

Razi Bayati is a UBC alumni and currently works at Rogers communications as a senior manager of data and analytics.

Before joining Rogers, she worked in both enterprise-level companies – Huawei and Nokia, successful startups – Theory + Practice and Zennea Technologies, and the telecommunication lab at the University of British Columbia. This diverse background gave her a knowledge of the AI life cycle to increase returns on data science and AI investments, and to understand the best strategy for end-to-end AI Model Lifecycle Management using MLOps methodologies.

She has always tried to bring the community together. She is currently co-chair of the women in technology group with RISE for Women at Rogers and chair of the MLOps world chapter in Vancouver. She is passionate about bringing equity and diversity in STEM and raising awareness around the barriers women face in STEM.

In this Alumni Office Hour, Razi will focus on her career story and how networking helped jumpstart her career in Canada as an international student.
