You Matter: Co-creating Health Care Policy with People who are Incarcerated
September 21, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Dr. Sofia Bartlett will explore the evidence for Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infection (STBBI) testing and linkage to care interventions in correctional centres, and discuss the need to provide person-centred, culturally safe, and trauma-informed care for STBBIs in these settings. She will present the framework developed at the BC Centre for Disease Control to co-design health care policies and guidelines with people who are incarcerated, and demonstrate how this was applied in the You Matter Project to create guidance for providing STBBI testing and linkage to care for people who are provincially incarcerated in British Columbia.
