UBC VOC Ski Film Night

On Wednesday Nov 2, come to the UBC Life Building and enjoy an incredible evening of ski films! The proceeds from your $10 ticket will benefit the VOC’s Avalanche Safety Training (AST) scholarship fund. This event is open to all – VOCers or students or not! There will be concessions and VOC swag for sale as well as exec members to answer any questions you have about the club.

Nexus is a ski film documenting five distinct groups of female skiers, their connection to the mountains and how skiing shapes their relationships. Each segment explores how the mountains have been a transformative place for each of these athletes, and what they’ve learned from their time on skis.
In the Approach 2, Brooklyn Bell, Vasu Sojitra, Sophia Rouches, Emilé Zynobia, Anna Soens and Ingrid Backstrom are reframing snowsports to be more inclusive, lifting each other up on the approach and cheering for each other on the way down.
The VOC’s very own Giulio Saibene is making a homemade ski film showcasing many VOCers from this past winter season. Enjoy sick lines and funny wipeouts from this incredible creator!
