In Conversation with Hong Kong Director Adam Sau-Ping Wong

Award-winning Hong Kong director Adam Sau-Ping Wong will conduct an in-person sharing on UBC main campus, where he will discuss his creative journey over two decades, his filmmaking career navigating indie and mainstream production, and his views on the Hong Kong film industry.

The guest speaker Adam Wong is a Hong Kong film director, best known for his feature films The Way We Dance (2013), She Remembers, He Forgets (2015), and The Way We Keep Dancing (2020). He also directed many short films and TV commercials, and has been teaching filmmaking at universities. Adam Wong is also Associate Professor of Practice in the Academy of Film at Hong Kong Baptist University.

His latest work The Way We Talk explores the subject of deafness, deaf culture, and identity. Following its world premiere at the 68th BFI London Film Festival 2024, theatrical release in Hong Kong, and film festival screenings worldwide, the film finally finds its way to Vancouver and will be shown in local theatres from July 25 onwards.
