Concord Floral by Jordan Tannahill

Prepare to be captivated by acclaimed playwright Jordan Tannahill’s suspenseful and stylishly structured play, Concord Floral, onstage at the Frederic Wood Theatre, November 22–December 2. UBC Theatre and Film’s 2023/2024 season opener is directed by Arthi Chandra and features the talents of BFA Acting and Production & Design students.   

Concord Floral, a vast and eerie abandoned greenhouse, serves as a clandestine hangout for neighbourhood teens. Here, they throw parties, build friendships and identities, and establish hierarchies amidst discarded furniture and urban wildlife. However, when a secret buried under the floorboards is uncovered, the teens are compelled to confront something they’d rather ignore. Loosely inspired by Boccaccio’s Decameron and infused with supernatural undertones, Concord Floral delves headfirst into the complexities of adolescence.
