Eating the elephant: stress-free strategies for completing your thesis or dissertation; hosted by Dr Jonathan Agnew.

Dr. Agnew is an Adjunct Professor of Health Policy at UBC’s School of Population and Public Health and the Director, Accreditation Programs, at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC). He holds a Ph.D. in Health Services & Policy Analysis from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA (hons) from the University of London, and a A.B. in Community Health from Brown University. Prior to joining the CPSBC, Dr. Agnew was Director of Policy at the Doctors of BC and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UBC’s Centre for Health Services and Policy Research, where he taught political science and conducted research on prescription drug policy. His interests include professional regulation and health care accreditation.

This seminar hour-long seminar will cover topics including schedule and time management, working successfully with dissertation and thesis committees, strategies for overcoming procrastination and writer’s block, and how to use personal productivity techniques to bring this major project to a successful conclusion. Although intended for SPPH students who will begin writing their graduate thesis or dissertation, those who have already begun the journey are also welcome to attend.
