GenAI Issues and Challenges (30+30)

Join this 30+30 session at UBC to delve into the ethical challenges of using generative AI in higher education. The first half of this session, a 30-minute interactive presentation, will focus on the ethical considerations and nuances related to GenAI in academia.

The second half will be dedicated to a discussion, allowing participants to share experiences and perspectives on these intricate matters. Through this targeted exploration, this workshop will guide faculty, staff, and educators in understanding and engaging with the ethical landscape surrounding generative AI in teaching and learning.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand Ethical Challenges of GenAI in Higher Education: Engage in an interactive presentation to explore the key ethical considerations and nuances related to the use of generative AI in academic settings.
  2. Participate in Discussion on GenAI Ethics: Engage in a collaborative discussion, sharing perspectives and experiences on the ethical complexities of generative AI in education.
