Are you a new graduate student starting in May or September 2025? Come to this session to interact with current graduate students from the Black Graduate Student Network (BGSN) to learn more about life at UBC, in Vancouver, and Canada.
Join to ask all your lifestyle and living situation-related questions such as where you can get your African or Caribbean groceries, where to get your hair done, or how to find a community. Whatever your questions, we’ve been here, we’ve done it, and we want to show you how.
About BGSN: BGSN became an affiliate organization of the Graduate Student Society (GSS) in February 2021. Since then, they have had events with the primary goal of fostering a community of Black graduate students on the UBC Vancouver campus and improving their experiences academically, professionally, and socially.
This session is online, sponsored by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, in partnership with the BGSN.
