Climate Doomism: An Introductory Workshop

February 15 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Do you think that UN COP events are meaningless at best? Do you want to take climate action but feel paralyzed because it seems hopeless? Do you want to talk about this kind of thing but have difficulty doing so?

UBC “doomster” and overall positive (really!) person Gavin Esdale will give an introduction to the surprisingly lively subject area of climate “doomism” and the ways in which it can actually help guide us through the difficult work of taking action even when we fully expect things to get worse. Presentation interspersed with opportunities for group discussion and reflection.

P.S. If you think that a workshop on climate doom is a bad idea, then this workshop is for you!

Organized by Campus + Community Planning. Part of Climate Emergency Week.
