The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) builds a bridge between teaching and research in the disciplines. SoTL is “the systematic study of teaching and/or learning and the public sharing and review of such work” (McKinney, 2006, p. 39)

We are excited to announce the seventh annual UBC Celebrate SoTL Event, in-person, on Thursday, October 10th. Celebrate SoTL is an opportunity for UBC SoTL practitioners to share their stories from practice, engage in dialogue around teaching and learning topics, and network with colleagues across disciplines. The event also offers an opportunity for those interested in, or currently engaging with the scholarship of teaching and learning, to become familiar with SoTL work that is currently taking place at UBC. This session features a number of SoTL practitioners at UBC who will share their insights and facilitate discussion around SoTL work and the role it plays in tenure and promotion at UBC. Please bring your questions and join us for a conversation about how to strategically frame and document SoTL work!
