BCCSU Research & Dialogue speaker series: Vancouver Injection Drug User Study (VIDUS)

March 29, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

The “Research & Dialogue” speaker series places substance use research in dialogue with lived experience to put the latest evidence into real world context.

Each virtual hour-long session takes place on the last Wednesday of the month. The sessions are broken in to a 35-minute presentation, a 10-minute response from the respondent, and a 15-minute Q&A with attendees.

We invite anyone with an interest in the substance use field to attend this speaker series. This includes people with lived and living experience, their friends and family, frontline responders, program and service providers, clinicians, policy makers, researchers and their staff, the media, and anyone in the general public.

Topic: Vancouver Injection Drug User Study (VIDUS) – an overview and brief history of this study along with meaningful recent findings.

As the first session of our new speaker series, Dr. Kanna Hayashi will be presenting an overview and recent findings of the Vancouver Injection Drug User Study (VIDUS). Dean Wilson will act as the respondent to Dr. Hayashi’s talk by placing the research within the context of his lived and living experience.
