This in-person workshop takes place at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC and is intended for midwives, nurse practitioners, nurses, family physicians, physician assistants and residents. It was developed to provide training in a Canadian context for entry-level skills for surgical assist with a focus on obstetrics.
Perineal trauma is a common obstetrical event. However, midwives make every effort to avoid it and many report very rates. Many midwives also identify a need for more clinical experience and review of perineal repair techniques. The Perineal Repair Workshop, held at the University of Victoria, provides hands-on practice in these key approaches.
