Silkroad Ensemble: Uplifted Voices

The Grammy Award-winning Silkroad Ensemble present a program championing female and non-binary members with their original compositions. With music that draws from each musician’s personal background, spanning from Indigenous communities to Japan, Armenia, and Ireland, Uplifted Voices weaves a musical tapestry that highlights our shared humanity.

Founded by Yo-Yo Ma, Silkroad is a social-impact organization that seeks to create a more equitable world through the power of the arts. Under the leadership of current Artistic Director Rhiannon Giddens, Silkroad reaches new heights through a commitment to new music, a reinvigorated mission towards cultural collaboration, and a renewed passion for arts education that both reflect its mission and the times in which we live.
