Rethinking Assessment with Generative AI
October 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Generative AI is challenging educators to reconsider what assessments measure, how students demonstrate learning, and which skills should remain independently developed. Drawing on the AI-supercharging and AI-proofing (ASAP) framework developed by Bhalla, Goedhart, and Fussner-Dupas (2026), this interactive session will explore how assessment can be redesigned to respond to these changing conditions.
Participants will apply the framework to an existing assessment, considering when AI use may bypass foundational learning and when it may deepen learning through critique, reflection, creativity, or higher-order thinking. Please bring an assessment or assignment to work on.
