Research Makes the Difference

September 28 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Free

Research skills can lead to success in school and beyond, but many students have questions about where to start. Teens and adults, here’s your chance to hear award-winning UBC professor Christopher Rea discuss his recent book, Where Research Begins: Choosing a Research Project That Matters to You (and the World), co-written with Thomas S. Mullaney. Topics will include: transforming a topic into a set of concrete and compelling questions, finding useful sources, dealing with mental roadblocks, and staying motivated.

This event is for you, if you:

have difficulty choosing a research topic
feel intimidated by or unqualified to do research
feel like your research topic was imposed by someone else
want to learn new ways to think about how to do research.
Learn how to design a research project that interests you, and why research is for everyone.
