Encounters of Hope: Lived experiences of disordered eating and recovery
April 6, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The UBC Student Recovery Community, the UBC Food Hub, and the UBC Wellness Centre present: Encounters of Hope: Lived experiences of disordered eating and recovery
Join us Wednesday April 6th at 5pm for an engaging panel discussion featuring four members of our UBC community who will share their lived experiences and journey of living with and seeking supports for disordered eating as well as their unique and individual process of finding recovery.
Some of our panelists now work in the field and will share their professional expertise as well. You will also have the opportunity to ask your questions to our panelists.
The panel will take place 5-6pm and will be available both online via Zoom and as an in-person event in the Policy Lab at the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS) on the UBC Vancouver Campus.
Dinner will be served after the panel at ~6pm in the Food Hub Market in CIRS and is sponsored by the UBC Community Food Hub. A tour of the Food Hub Market will be offered and you are invited to share your ideas for what a community food hub might look like and reflect on the connections between food security, disordered eating and eating disorder recovery. Students that attend the dinner and Community Food Hub Engagement portion of the event will be eligible to be compensated with a $25 UBC Food Services gift card (until supplies last) for contributing their time and ideas,
