Celebrate SoTL: World Café
October 19 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) builds a bridge between teaching and research in the disciplines. SoTL is “the systematic study of teaching and/or learning and the public sharing and review of such work” (McKinney, 2006, p. 39)
We are excited to announce the sixth annual UBC Celebrate SoTL Event, in-person, on Thursday, October 19th. Celebrate SoTL is an opportunity for UBC SoTL practitioners to share their stories from practice, engage in dialogue around teaching and learning topics, and network with colleagues across disciplines. The event also offers an opportunity for those interested in, or currently engaging with the scholarship of teaching and learning, to become familiar with SoTL work that is currently taking place at UBC. Read about previous Celebrate SoTL events.
In this session, several SoTL practitioners will share their insights and facilitate small group discussions on a number of different SoTL topics, including: imposter syndrome in SoTL contexts, JEDII in SoTL, and the role of SoTL in learning about AI in higher education contexts. Please join us for a series of casual conversations around these important topics in SoTL work.
