Maximizing your Experience to Propel your Career
Dave Clarke was born and raised in Richmond, BC. After high school, Dave attended the University of British Columbia, not really knowing what kind of career he wanted to pursue. He majored in Philosophy, then English, then finally History. Similarly, his career aspirations pivoted from Journalism to Law and finally to “whatever job would take him from his parents’ basement and into his own apartment”.
Dave started his post-secondary life working as a Junior Ticket Sales Representative for the Vancouver Giants. After a year, he pivoted to TekSystems as a Technical Recruiter. Finally, he moved in-house to recruit for Electronic Arts. Dave has worn many hats and been promoted twice since joining EA in 2018. Most recently, he has taken on the position of Team Lead for Global Talent Acquisition.
Throughout his career, Dave has always tried to maximize his experience in each position. He continually pushes himself outside of his comfort zone to both gain new skills and also learn about what does and does not motivate him. He credits his success to being ambitious, curious and adaptable.
Attending an Office Hour is an excellent opportunity for you to expand your network and participate in an open, round-table discussion with alumni.
