UBCevents will be undergoing a temporary transformation for Orientations coming this August!
UBC Orientations is for EVERYONE. We at Student Development are currently working on this collaborative project with UBC IT and Public Affairs. There will be a new look, a new feel, and lots of new features to ensure that all your wants and needs for Orientations will be met. We will be blogging regularly to keep you updated on what’s going on behind the scenes with the Orientations view of UBCevents.
Here is what we have so far:
Below is the Home Page to which all new-to-UBC students will be directed. The left side focuses on UBCevents and the right side on Orientations. The user would then self-identify as one of the following options: First Year, Transfer, Returning, Graduate, or Faculty & Staff.
Upon selecting a category, the user will then be directed to a more personalized page. Shown below is an example of a personalized page for a First Year Science student.
Some features include:
- MUG Leader personalization
- a map with a pinpointed location
- Flickr photos from UBC Orientations 2009
- A personalized schedule according to MUG group
- Faculty/Departmental Events
- Campus-Wide events
