2023 UBC Pride Connect: 2SLGBTQIA+ faculty & staff reception
The UBC Pride Connect reception for 2SLGBTQIA+ faculty, staff and postdoctoral fellows is back for 2023! Formerly known as Pride Convergence, the reception is an annual event for building and sustaining 2SLGBTQIA+ networks, while championing a more inclusive campus community.

UBC Applied Science: Fireside Chat for Pride Month
UBC Applied Science will be holding a conversation on the experiences and priorities of 2SLGBTQIA+ faculty, staff and students in STEM. This ‘fireside chat’ will be guided by Sheryl Staub-French, Associate Dean of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Faculty of Applied Science.

Everyone’s invited to help roll out the rainbow for some roller-skating fun! For this year’s alumni UBC Pride party, we’re heading over to Rolla Skate Club (Rollerland) @ PNE for an evening of recreation and entertainment, hosted by drag queen extraordinaire Karmella Barr.

Branching OUT 2023: An Evening of Plants, Pride and LGBTQ2S+ Community
BranchingOUT is a chance for botanically inclined, curious members of the LGBTQ2S+ community to hang out and warm up for the Vancouver Pride Festival weekend. Join horticulturist Scott Ferguson and colleagues for an evening of guided tours throughout UBC Botanical Garden’s collections, including the GreenHeart TreeWalk, refreshments, light snacks, and opportunities to mingle are all a part of this event in our beautiful Garden.

Mini Pride Picnic
Gather in the courtyard in front of the Arts & Science Building for some snacks and socializing. Bring your picnic blanket and dress in all of your Pride related outfits and finery. Open to all UBCO students, staff, faculty and campus community members.

Vancouver Pride Parade
A signature event that attracts over 100,000 attendees on Pride Weekend in August. Featuring over 100 local community groups, non-profit organizations, businesses and more showcasing their support for the 2SLGBTQAI+ communities.

Positive Space
Positive Space campaign is a university-wide initiative intended to raise awareness and visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, two-spirit, trans and queer students, staff, faculty, alumni and allies at UBC.

Gender Diversity at UBC
At UBC, we are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming campus environment for all our sexual and gender diverse students, faculty, staff and community members. Learn about different aspects of gender diversity or find information about UBC’s systems.

SOGI UBC
SOGI UBC seeks to nurture an inclusive culture, workplace and learning environment for faculty, staff and students in the Faculty of Education and across other faculties and institutions that seek to develop inclusive climates and practices.
Student Groups
Colour Connected Against Racism
Colour Connected Against Racism is an AMS resource group that works to end racism, and all forms of oppression, discrimination and prejudice.
Gears and Queers
Gears and Queers is a club comprised of LGBTQ2SIA+ engineers and allies. They are dedicated to creating an open, accepting space for queer engineering students at UBC.
UBC Okanagan EngiQueers
A UBC Students’ Union Okanagan club that provides a safe space for LGBTQ2SIA+ students, specifically focused on engineering students and allies.
UBC Pride Collective
The Pride Collective is an AMS resource group that offers educational and social services dealing with sexual and gender diversity to the UBC community.
UBC Students Against Bigotry
UBC Students Against Bigotry seeks to promote freedom of expression and empower those whose safety or dignity are threatened.
UBCSUO Pride Resource Centre
The student-run Pride Resource Centre works to create a social atmosphere within UBC Okanagan to foster discussion and awareness on campus of sexual and gender diversity.
Staff Support
Queer Faculty and Staff Collective
The Queer Faculty and Staff Collective provides a space for UBC faculty and staff who identify as members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities to come together, make connections and build community.
