    Nathan Hesselink, director Often referred to as Samulnori (사물놀이), Korean percussion music is rooted in Korean folk traditions, especially from farming and shamanistic rituals, and is known for its energetic rhythms, improvisation, and synchronized movements. Performances often include dance-like gestures and are both visually and aurally captivating.   The UBC Korean Drumming Ensemble may perform outside on the plaza, weather permitting.
