Writing for Graduate Success: Flow in Academic Writing

October 14 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Flow is one of the most valued—and least well-defined—qualities in academic writing. This workshop examines sentence-level and sentence-to-sentence strategies for creating clarity, cohesion, and momentum in academic writing. Participants will learn how decisions about information placement and sentence construction can affect how readers process complex ideas, and practice revising sentences and paragraphs for flow. Whatever your academic writing project, this session will help you make purposeful stylistic choices that strengthen reader engagement.

Facilitator: Dr. Alois Sieben, Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication

Location: IKBLC, Level 3, Dodson Room and on Zoom. Registrants receive the Zoom link 1 day prior to the workshop.
