Where Code and Music Meet
Experience the intersection of technology and sound as UBC Music students perform new works of electroacoustic and interactive computer music. Students create original works and and control sound, video, and lighting using a wide range of digital interfaces and sensors—including gesture tracking, webcams, Kinects, accelerometers, game controllers, custom circuits, Arduinos, and mobile devices. Performances feature both traditional instruments and innovative digital instruments.
12:00 pm — Electroacoustic Music (MUSC 319)
Students present new multichannel electroacoustic music works using spatialized sound synthesis and processing techniques, surrounding the audience in novel soundscapes.
7:30 pm — Laptop Orchestra (MUSC 419)
