Discover how SensusAccess can simplify the process of converting documents into accessible formats, helping to remove barriers and improve access to information for all learners. In this 30-minute show-and-tell session, we’ll explore key features, share practical tips for creating more accessible content, and demonstrate how SensusAccess can help save time while supporting inclusive teaching and learning.

SensusAccess is a self-service document conversion tool that allows users to transform a wide range of file types into alternative, more accessible formats. It can convert documents into tagged PDFs, accessible Word documents, MP3 audio files, DAISY digital talking books, e-books, Braille-ready files, and other accessible formats.

Key features include viewing and converting multiple document types, generating accessible PDFs and Word documents, creating audio versions of text-based materials, producing e-book and Braille-ready formats, and providing a simple self-service interface that requires no specialized software or technical expertise.

Benefits include improving access to course materials for students with diverse learning needs and empowering faculty and staff to build more inclusive and accessible learning environments.

Session format:

  • A 30-minute bite-size presentation (show-and-tell), and
  • An optional 30-minute discussion and exploration period, providing opportunities for further questions, collective experimentation, resource-sharing, and community-building.
