The Art of the French Macaron

Is the mini sandwich cookie as challenging as they say it is? What if you could master this fancy treat with the same confidence as a Laduree pastry chef? In this workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step and learn successful tips for mastering the art of the delicate meringue. Participants will also learn to make a delightful filling from scratch, and discover pairings to enhance the flavour profile of the macaron. It’s time to showcase how you’re taking your baking to the next level!
Growing up, Sharon spent a healthy amount of time entrenched in the spines of cookbooks where she soon found her creative art-form in the hobby of baking. Fascinated by the science of precise ingredient combination and the calming nature of baking, she quickly found herself immersed and comforted by food through working in fine-dining restaurants, facilitating community cooking classes and even creating food content for fun.
In her classes, Sharon enjoys adapting her approach to teach various ages across the lifespan, from young kids all the way to seniors. Her teaching style encourages participants to take on new challenges/recipes in the kitchen, such as re-creating fine-dining-like dishes at home, and explore less frequent culinary ingredients that may soon become a household staple once explored. Above all, she hopes to share her passion for food as a way to invite connection, discover new traditions and cultivate a shared sense of warmth in every bite.
