Supporting international grad students (co-offered with ISD)

This 90-minute, interactive workshop, co-offered by G+PS and International Student Development (ISD), equips faculty and graduate program leaders with practical strategies to support international graduate students with empathy and effectiveness.

Through instruction, guided discussion and reflection, participants will gain insights and actionable tools to more effectively:
- Recognize and navigate diverse cultural expectations in academic and supervisory relationships
- Understand visa, work permit, and employment considerations
- Adapt to a range of communication styles and language barriers
- Support international students in exploring career development within and beyond academia
- Connect students to institutional resources available across UBC
