Student Voices in Course Design

March 11 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Series:

Student Voices in Course Design is an interactive workshop for faculty and staff interested in creating more inclusive courses by partnering with students in the design process.

In this session, we’ll explore practical approaches to actively seeking and incorporating student perspectives into course materials, activities, and assessments. Through hands-on activities and real examples, you’ll learn strategies for meaningful student-faculty collaboration where students are active partners in design, not just sources of feedback.

Whether you’re curious about Students as Partners approaches, looking to redesign a course with student input, or wanting to make your teaching more student-centered, this workshop will provide concrete tools and frameworks you can adapt to your context.

By the end of the session, you will have:

  • Explored different levels of student participation in course design using the Ladder of Participation framework
  • Examined approaches to gathering and using student feedback throughout the course design process
  • Developed strategies for creating partnerships that enhance learning for everyone involved
  • Connected with colleagues who share an interest in student-centered course development

This workshop includes guided activities and time for discussion, so come ready to engage with new ideas and leave with practical next steps.

To get the most out of this workshop, please bring a laptop or mobile device for hands-on learning.
