Ripples: A walking tour (led by artist Sydney Hart)
October 25, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free
Ripples is a public art series along the Arbutus Greenway (between Fir and Burrard St.) in Vancouver. Join us for a tour led by the artist!
The tour will run from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 25. Please meet at the pedestrian/bike path on Fir Street, between West 5th and 6th Avenue — right near the Mobi bike share rack.
About the project
Ripples consists of five consecutive billboards that examine the environmental impact of global trade and challenges how we see and understand information about our world.
The project is a collaboration between artist Sydney Hart, curator Christine D’Onofrio (UBC’s Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory), researcher Gavin Fridell, and the Global Reporting Centre. It will be installed in October as part of a City of Vancouver public art program along the Arbutus Greenway between Fir St. and Burrard St.

The Global Reporting Centre is based at UBC’s School of Journalism, Writing, and Media.
