NVivo part 1: getting started with NVivo

May 10, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

NVivo is a computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software. In this introductory workshop, you will learn about the benefits of working with NVivo, how to set it up, the types of sources you can use, and how to import them into NVivo. You will also learn how to do queries, nodes, and coding.

Workshop requirements:

NVivo is available for free for all UBC students, faculty, and staff. You are encouraged to install NVivo on your Mac or PC before the workshop, so that you can follow along.

This workshop uses NVivo R1. Please download NVivo R1 ahead of time (version 1.3 or later). The older NVivo 12 has similar functions but a different interface than the version used in this workshop.

Download NVivo at https://it.ubc.ca/services/desktop-print-services/software-licensing/nvivo-pro-software.

If you have any questions, concerns, or accessibility needs, please email research.commons@ubc.ca.
