This week on March 27th, 2026 from 7-9pm, SFU Physics and the UBC Dept. of Physics & Astronomy invite you to a free public evening with Nobel Prize-winning physicist Donna Strickland at SFU Harbour Centre! Want to meet a Canadian Nobel Laureate in Physics? A self-described lover of lasers, Donna will talk about her prize winning research of a laser that while delivering short pulses of light, will knock electrons off of their atoms! Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to meet an incredible scientist and national treasure.

It’s a rare opportunity to meet and chat with Nobel prize-winning scientists, and the chance to meet world-renown Donna Strickland (Nobel Prize in physics, 2018) is no exception.
