Inclusive Teaching in Practice: UDL & Neurodiversity
November 9 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Every classroom includes learners who think, process, communicate, and engage in different ways. How can we design learning experiences that better recognize and support this diversity?
Join us for a three-hour, in-person workshop where we’ll explore neurodiversity and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) through conversation, reflection, and practical application. Bring your questions, experiences, and real teaching challenges; we’ll create space to learn from one another, explore strategies, and consider what inclusive teaching can look like in your own context.
You’ll leave with fresh perspectives, useful resources, and at least one concrete action you can take in your teaching to reduce barriers and support learner variability. By the end of this session, you will:
- Explore the impact of neurodiversity on student learning in higher education
- Connect with your peers to discuss your questions and experiences related to neurodiversity in the classroom
- Identify at least one UDL-based strategy to support neurodivergent students in your classroom
No prior knowledge of UDL or neurodiversity is needed. Come as you are; with your questions, curiosity, and experiences.
If you are new to UDL and/or Neurodiversity, we invite you to join us in these two related sessions:
