Equity, Diversity and Inclusion: TA Training

This event is part of TA Foundations taking place from September 14 – 18, 2026.

This session is open to UBC TAs. This session is not open to staff, faculty or UBC alumni.

The EDI in TAing session is designed to help TAs build their awareness of power dynamics, equitable and inclusive classroom conduct, and the institutional supports they can utilize in their work with students and instructors. This workshop creates spaces for TAs to explore how power and privilege appear within the learning environment, the policies and guidelines that frame their work, and how best to support students as they navigate ethical dilemmas and potential conflicts. This foundational session supports TAs as they develop their practices for building an equitable and inclusive learning environment with diverse students and instructors.
