Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA) Company Recruiting Session
This coming Fall 2024, the CVCA team will be travelling across Canada to talk to future grads about what it looks like to pursue a career in Venture Capital and/ or Private Equity.
Our 2-hour session hosted on campus includes 3 parts; an #AMA (Ask Me Anything) Panel with industry leaders, networking accompanied by food/beverage, and a fund manager simulation. The ultimate “show me, teach me, let me try it” model. In fall 2023, we visited nine universities in six different cities across Canada. We spoke to over 500 students, all at different academic levels (undergrad, masters, post-grad) and program backgrounds. Notably, 92% of students shared that they would pursue a career in venture capital and/or private equity after attending our session.
A crucial component to this tour is to promote our Diversity Internship Program, an initiative designed to nurture a diverse talent ecosystem within the Canadian private capital industry. Each summer, CVCA runs this program that places students into full-time, fully paid internships in our member firms. This program is not just a gateway for students to gain profound knowledge and practical experience, but a platform to broaden their network extensively within the industry. CVCA also provides programming throughout the summer to support, connect, and advance the internship cohort. Applications for the summer 2025 term will be open at the time we visit your school, so students can apply right there and then!
