Employer On-Campus: Amazon Robotics

Hear from the engineers and scientists building the robots that power Amazon’s fulfilment network. The evening opens with a tech talk on the systems behind AR, followed by interview prep with tips straight from the people who run our loops, and networking over food with the team. Come to learn how we build robotics, ML, and software at scale, and how internships and new-grad roles get started.

Attending Representatives:

• Gaurav Agarwal, Software Development Manager. Gaurav joined Amazon in Toronto in 2020 as a software engineer on fulfillment technology, grew into senior engineering roles within Amazon Robotics R&D, and has led AR software teams since 2023. He now manages the Applied Automation software team behind Scanless Technologies.
• Frank Preiswerk, Principal Applied Scientist. Frank joined Amazon Robotics in 2019 as a machine learning scientist and has grown through the applied science ranks to Principal. He also leads our research partnership with the UBC Engineering Physics Lab.
• Laura Wheatley, System Development Engineer II. Laura first joined Amazon as a software engineering intern in Toronto in 2019, returned full time to Amazon Robotics in 2020, and moved into systems development, where she now builds and operates the infrastructure behind AR’s robotic systems.
• Katie Gum (Sasuga), Technical Recruiter II. Katie has been with Amazon since 2019, starting in recruiting coordination and moving into technical recruiting in 2021. She now focuses on university talent acquisition and has supported AR campus events for several years.
• Kacie Lombardi, Technical Recruiter. Kacie joined Amazon’s recruiting organization in 2021 as a coordinator and became a technical recruiter in 2022. She works on university talent acquisition and runs the registration and hiring logistics for events like AR Day.
• Will Brandon, Software Development Engineer. Will first joined Amazon Robotics as an SDE co-op in 2024 and returned full time in 2025. He builds software on the Applied Automation team and is a recent example of the co-op to full-time path.
• Krina Devani, Software Development Engineer. Krina completed an SDE co-op with Amazon Robotics in 2024 and converted to full time in 2025. She develops software on the Applied Automation team.
• Sallin Koutev, Software Development Engineer. Sallin interned with Amazon Robotics in Toronto in 2025 and joined full time in May 2026 as a software engineer on the Applied Automation team, making him our newest co-op success story.
