CGS-D Proposal: Crafting a Compelling Research Story

This workshop is for graduate students applying for Doctoral Tri-Council funding: CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC. Drawing on evidence-based research about successful grant proposals, facilitators discuss particular elements of this written academic genre: audience, purpose, knowledge gap, competence claim, structure, style, and more.

The workshop includes examples of successful UBC Tri-Council proposals, opportunities for one-on-one writing consultations with doctoral peers from the Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication, and dedicated writing time.

Date & Time: Wednesday, September 7, 2022: 2:00pm – 4:00pm PT

Location: IKBLC, Level 3, Dodson Room and on Zoom. Registrants receive the Zoom link 1 day prior to the workshop.
