BIOINFORMATICS/IOP/GSAT RESEARCH DAY (BIG23)

March 28, 2023

Free

The 12th annual Bioinformatics/IOP/GSAT Research Day (BIG23) will come on March 28th, 2023 at Life Sciences Institute, UBC campus. Registration is now open!

The BIG Research day is an annual tradition of the Bioinformatics, Interdisciplinary Oncology and Genome Science + Technology graduate programs at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. Over 100 graduate students from all three programs gather to present their research projects and attend seminars and workshops by academic and industry professionals. Students from other graduate programs and undergraduate students are welcome to attend and/or present a poster, so feel free to register and pass along this invitation to your colleagues!

Click here to register – please note that registration will be required to attend the in-person event.

Poster abstracts are due by February 28th and can be submitted during registration. Those who indicated an interest in giving a Speed Talk during registration will have their abstract considered for a talk instead of a poster or both if they wish to do so. Click here for abstract and poster submission guidelines.

The theme for 2023 will be Post-transcriptional and Post-translational Modifications in Clinical Setting – check out the website (bigresearchday.com) for more information about the event. This year’s Keynote is Dr. Christopher Burge, CSB Program Director; Professor of Biology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Extramural Member of KIICR and Associate Member of the Broad Institute. More information about the schedule and other speakers will be forthcoming.
