Biodiversity Days 2023: Family Nature Walk
May 20, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
UBC Botanical Garden invites you and your community to participate in their 3rd annual Family Nature Walk.
About the Family Nature Walk
This children-oriented biodiversity adventure is ~ 90 minutes and includes a self-guided journey through UBC Botanical Garden to find the pop-up education stations in the Garden. Activities included traversing the Greenheart TreeWalk, exploring the forest gardens, discovering food plants or taking time to watch for birds and bees.
The add-on Kids Nature Kits are an exciting, family-favourite element of the Family Nature Walk. When families arrive at the Garden, Kids Nature Kits are distributed and include a cotton tote bag, a hand-lens to see nature up close, a children’s book that celebrates the diversity of species across the Pacific Northwest and a map to guide them on their garden adventure.
Tickets for a 90-minute slot are available between 10 am – 2:30 pm on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A TICKET?
Tickets are $50 per family and provide access to the Garden for 2 adults and 2 children to experience the Greenheart TreeWalk and discover biodiversity education stations. Kids Nature Kits can be purchased as an add-on for $40 and are designed for children and youth to learn about plants, pollinators and biodiversity. Kits will be distributed at the registration table when you arrive. For families with more than one child, it is suggested that each child get their own kit. However, items are able to be shared and enjoyed by all. There will be food and light snacks for families to enjoy in the Food Garden.
