Beyond Consent Culture: Creating Community Accountability

Description:
This workshop will provide staff and faculty with the foundational knowledge about systems of oppression, toxic masculinity, consent, and sexualized violence within the current socio-cultural context. Staff and faculty will also learn the basics of how to support survivors and how to apply this knowledge to provide a safer environment within their communities, and reduce sexualized violence and misogyny within workplace culture.

About Your Facilitator:
WAVAW (Links to an external site.) is a feminist, anti-oppressive, decolonizing rape crisis centre operating on unceded Coast Salish Territories. They provide support services to survivors of sexualized violence who have shared experiences of gender marginalization: cis and trans women, Two-Spirit, trans and/or non-binary people. They advocate for social and systemic change through education, outreach and activism.
