Addressing Stigma and Discrimination: Hearing the Voices of People with Dementia

January 25, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

In 2019, a four-year Participatory Action Research project funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research began. In this study, academic researchers (led by A. Phinney, J. Mann, & D. O’Connor) and people with lived expertise of dementia (an Action Group) came together as co-researchers to address the stigma and
discrimination that so frequently accompany a diagnosis of dementia. Please join the Action Group and members of the Research Team at our next online colloquium where they will be discussing how this project came about and what it has been like to participate in this study. Team members will also be introducing the Flipping Stigma on its Ear Toolkit, one of the main outcomes of the research project. To RSVP and receive the ZOOM link
